Maybe it's a bit pretentious of me to set up a web address just to display my photographs but for some time now I have wanted an accessible place for viewing all of my favorite images from among the tens of thousands of photos I have taken over the years. My interest in photography began in the 1960's when I started traveling as part of my job to (sometimes) scenic locales. It wasn't until the early 1970's, though, that I became truly serious about it. Although never more than a hobby, it quickly became a passionate one and has remained so to this day. I have primarily focused on nature photos, mostly landscapes, but also macro (closeup) photography of flowers and other parts of plants. The images shown here are only a sampling of my work in these areas. The majority of these images were taken with Kodachrome film which I used all through the 1970's, 80's, and 90's. I didn't start using a digital camera until 2002 but quickly became all digital once I was convinced that the images were really as good as those captured on film. For those who care about such things, most of the images here were optimized in Photoshop. This mainly involved tweaking the brightness, contrast, and color saturation. The intent was (as in the old darkroom days) to end up with a realistic-looking image, allowing the viewer to see the scene as I did when it was photographed. In that light (pun intended) this portfolio is presented for your viewing pleasure.
